Lauren Ronald is a Baltimore, MD born artist currently based in Charleston, SC.

In Lauren Ronald’s work, she uses a chladni plate to produce resonance frequencies, which are then abstracted into paintings and sculptures. The chladni plate is a steel surface that produces a visible pattern when a sound is played into it. These patterns are the cymatic frequencies. All sound has a frequency that can be visible around us at all times. She references parts of frequency patterns in the different forms and shapes to use in her paintings and sculptures. She combines these hertz forms with an intuitive approach to working abstractly.
