In Lauren Ronald’s work, she uses a chladni plate to produce resonance frequencies, which are then abstracted into paintings and sculptures. The chladni plate is a steel surface that produces a visible pattern when sound vibrates it. She references parts of frequency patterns in the different forms and shapes to use in her paintings and sculptures. She combines these hertz forms with an intuitive approach to working abstractly.
